I love working with preloved things that have had a previous life but are no longer wanted. I get enormous pleasure from working with hardwood furniture that can be converted into children's play ovens or play kitchenettes - making a toy that will last forever due to the sturdiness of the wood. Upcycled and crafted toys envoke a sense of nostilgia about toys I had that my Nana had knitted or Poppa had crafted from wood. I found my children gravitate to these types of toys and I get a huge sense of satisfaction when I see them using imaginative play with my ovens and toys.
