Polka Pinky Tapestry Handbag
Quirky and 100% unique, this medium strapped tapestry handbag is looking for someone to love.
Made with satin selvedge ribbons (a locally sourced fabric waste), bits and bobs from my sewing room scraps bin, and a very cute ladybird button (op shop haberdashy lucky dip ftw)
The colour pallete is Barbie influenced, pink, pink, pink, peach, rose, red, some purples, a few lucky dips.
Constructed on a portable frame loom using entirely recycled materials it is 15cm wide, and 20cm tall.
It has an open top design, and a simple but effective flower and toggle closing.
Not a volumetrics specialist, so the bag has instead been "stuff tested" to capacity: Phone + glasses case + keys + lippy + handcream + eye drops = stuffed!
It's lined with a synthetic white-on-red polkadot fabric, which also forms the tubular 80cm strap.
Wear it slung from your wrist by looping the strap around your forearm, it sits comfortably and doesn't cut into your arm. It elicits a delightfully whimsical feeling swinging it while you walk.
