"Pā o te hā means 'meeting of the life essence'. The pattern was inspired by a combination of kowhaiwhai (Māori painted ornamentation) Norse and Celtic knotwork designs and represents the coalescence of my Māori and Pākehā ancestry"- Ariana Ngāti Toarangatira, Ngāti Raukawa, Ngāpuhi
