This is a print of an original painting done on paper using high flow acrylics, pen, watercolour and ink. It is part of The Call of the Moon Series – The moon often appears in my works, so much science and romance in this creature of the night sky.
Matariki is the Māori name for the Pleaides star cluster. It rises during mid-winter and marks the beginning of the Māori new year.
Matariki is the star that signifies reflection, hope, our connection to the environment, and the gathering of people. Matariki is also connected to the health and wellbeing of people.
