Spearmint Rag Rug
Spearmint is a rag rug made from recycled bedsheets.
The rug is a twined rug and is woven on a simple wooden frame called a twining frame. The weaving itself used recycled cotton and poly cotton bedsheets. I use 4-5 sheets in the making of each rag rug.
The sheets are torn into strips, a therapeutic but time consuming process.
It is a pleasure to be able to save materials from going to landfill - my loom is also made from a recycled pallet!
The rug is thick and soft and very comfortable to walk on.
Spearmint would make a great addition to the kitchen, bedroom or bathroom.
