THE TUI ON A COPPER RED BACKGROUND HANDPAINTED PURE SILK SCARF is one of our favourite native birds as it sings and warbles in our gardens feeding on the nectar of flax and kowhai flowers among others. A cheeky boisterous bird that mimics and swoops through the garden protecting it's prize source of nectar. The scarf shows the Tui singing on flax flowers with kowhai foliage on a rich copper red coloured background.

Habotai silk is a sheer silk with a lovely lustre.

Silk is hypoallergenic so can be worn safely by allergy sufferers. It is a natural fibre so it breathes and keeps you COOL in summer and because it is an efficient insulator it provides non bulky thermal WARMTH in winter.

EASY CARE.

Warm hand wash, towel dry and iron damp to give the best lustre to the fabric. A reasonably hot iron can be used and it is best ironed on the reverse side especially when gold and silver paints have been used.
