Dollmaker Claire Leblond is the maker behind the range of quirky, unique cloth dolls she fondly calls “Susie Dolls”, after her sister Sue. 11am–2pm at the Blind Foundation Hall, 96 Bristol Street, St Albans. A craft and materials market with a difference, supporting people affected by arthritis. Admission Free.

 

Plunket Newtown/Mt Cook Fabric Auction WEL

7.30pm–8.30pm at Inhabit Design, 23 Adelaide Road, Mt Cook. Auctioning gorgeous fabrics donated by some of Wellington's top designers, upholsters and retailers! Every dollar raised supports local families. Admission $2.

 

SATURDAY 10 MAY

 

Autumn Woolfest AKL

10am–4pm at Shed 2, Corban Estate Arts Centre, 2 Lebanon Lane, Henderson. Wool and fibre craft products from all over New Zealand, demonstrations and a café for refuelling. Come along, stock up your stash and learn about knitting, crochet, spinning, lace making, weaving, and felting. Admission free.
