My name is Claire, I studied Fine Art at Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design with the intention of majoring in Fashion Design. But after taking some evening classes in jewellery making, I fell in love with the whole process and went on to study at MIT for the following 2 years. I live in Opunake, in South Taranaki on the Surf Highway. But spent alot of my childhood in the countryside of Cornwall, UK. My Uncle is a Master Glass Blower there and that was the beginning of my fascination with delicate things and our natural landscape.
I love jewellery as a medium because pieces can last for generations. They tell a story about the wearer. To me this is priceless for generations to come.
