Kete making and the potential use of kete in modern New Zealand has become a fascinating journey for me. Harakeke (flax) makes an amazing contribution to the health of our landscape by removing nitrates from groundwater and waterways.

I craft each kete using traditional raranga tikanga. I hope you enjoy the versatility and traditional beauty of these ketes as much as I have enjoyed making them.

The name of my shop, soulyfibre, reflects my interest is working with a range of natural fibres, in particular wool. I enjoy felting, knitting and weaving. Microplastics (microfibres) from synthetic clothing are recognised as a growing environmental concern, polluting water ways and ultimately ending up in the ocean. Therefore, I only work with natural fibres and sell quality hand crafted items on my store.
