"The beauty of handmade lies in the imperfections. Anything perfect is machine made" by Unknown

My name is Liz and I am a homeschooling Mum and part time potter. I have just about tried every craft there is and had a few failed handmade business ventures. Not being one to give up, I was determined to find my passion and share it with the world.

Needless to say after being a professional cake decorator for several years, I knew sculpting was my thing. The downside to cake decorating is that you are always working to other peoples ideas and design and it is not often you get free reign to use your own creativity.

The creativity bug really kicked in when I attended a pottery class and I discovered that me and clay were going to get on very well indeed. The more things I made the more ideas I had, I had to start drawing all my ideas in a little book so I didn't forget them.

There are so many styles, shapes and designs to go with, an abundance of practical and decorative uses and then there are the amazing colours and effects you can create with the glazes. Sometimes I just look at a glaze and I know what I have to make in order to show it off.

I love creating with clay, I find the making and sculpting process very therapeutic and I am like a kid in a candy store when I open the final kiln firing, I can't wait to get it all out and to see how the glazes have transformed them.

I am so grateful that I get to do what I love and that I can share my passion with other people. I hope that my customers will feel the same pleasure from my products that I feel when I am creating them.

If you have a passion or a love of something, do it, just go for it. It's not about getting rich, it's about doing what you love and loving what you do.
