… the weft brings to life the vibrancy of colours and is enhanced by the yarn texture.

Kate Bailey is a weaver known for her colourful wool blankets. Kate hand dyes her yarns and her inspiration for colour draws on the subtle harmonies observed in nature while tramping in the New Zealand bush, and the radiant works of Post-Impressionist painters.

Kate works from her studio beside Mt Te Aroha in the Waikato and her unique blankets have found homes worldwide. They vary in size and purpose, from cot blankets to knee rugs and larger, full length blankets. Woven with New Zealand wool of a mixed yarn for durability, some include mohair to make them extra lightweight and soft.
