I have always had an interest in creating - be it drawing, painting, writing, making “things” for family and friends - but it hasn’t been until the last four years or so that I have had the opportunity to do more than dabble.
In particular I enjoy working with natural and repurposed materials and find inspiration from animals, plants, landscapes, earthy tones and textures. Most recently I have been making feather circular designs, sometimes incorporating birds nests, leather and acorns. These take many, many hours - from cutting hundreds of feathers and then creating and making each original design. I really enjoy the challenge of not knowing where the placement of one tiny feather will lead to in the finished design - which can be a bit difficult when a client commissions a piece, but at I can at least manage to use the colours they choose!
