My love is of natural wool fibres and all things handmade. When objects are made by hand and with love they become treasures. All of my pieces are functional first and foremost, combined with designs that show off the beauty of wool.
Nature is what inspired me to call myself bloom. With a nod to loom weaving, which is at the core of what I love to do, and the view of my garden from my loom room, I thought bloom was the perfect name: inspiring creativity and the start of something special. The neighbouring sheep farm is a constant reminder of where wool begins its life and the journey it goes on to become yarn. All of my materials are sourced within NZ and as local as possible. Buying directly from farmers and small scale wool dyers is my way of supporting others in this industry.
