Deep orange enamel disc earrrings on sterling silver hooks

Deep orange enamel disc earrings handcrafted in my studio on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand.
Enameling is the art of applying glass powder to metal and fusing it in a kiln at about 1450 degrees. This process is repeated many times over with thorough cleanings in between firings and glass applications in order to achieve the desired result.
These enamels are fired on copper discs
The discs are 14mm diameter and have been finished with a patina and wax to protect them
They hang from very fine sterling silver locking ear wires, which are especially good for people with sensitive ears. They have a drop of 2.5cms
The earrings come in a handmade paper wrap, enclosed in handmade linen bags as pictured above.
