Upcycled Corrugated iron Iris flower (Relay for life South Canterbury fundraiser)
In conjunction with the Timaru Branch of the Cancer Society I have made these limited edition corrugated iron Irises for their 20th Anniversary Relay for Life. 15% of all sales go to the Cancer Society.
To make these special I have incorporated copper sheeting in the design, using the copper to make one of the leaves, this in time will oxidise to obtain a beautiful green patina to blend in with the other iron leaves.
Commemorative ribbon included.
These irises are made up of 11 pieces of hand cut flattened corrugated iron, copper sheet and steel rod. All brazed together then hand painted to form a beautiful purple iris flower and stem. Flowers are given a coat of clear enamel to hold the colour and allow for “planting” of flowers outside. A great piece of vibrant colour all year round in the garden, they look great in a cluster!
These are a limited run just for this occasion and going forward I will not be using the copper in the making of my irises and pricing will increase, so grab yourself a bargain and support a great cause!
