This freestanding sculptural piece is a one-off artwork. The addition of the Tillandsia ( see 2nd image) makes it functional but it is not necessary. You could also place seed lights inside to light it up at night. It is made using traditional Tiffany techniques with a contemporary twist. The glass is a mixture of vintage window glass and new and will have natural imperfections. The refractions and shadows bring another dimension to this work.

It can be placed on a windowsill or any horizontal surface.

The Tillandsia absorbs water and nutrients through its leaves and will just need a spray or dunking in water weekly. I add them to some of my works for their form and colour as well as to help tell a recurring story within my works relating to how the built world impacts the environment. To learn more about the plant and its care - just google it. Fascinating! If you don’t want the plant - just let me know and I won’t send it.

I have made a similar multicolour pieces - see extra images and listings here on Felt.

Please note that the solder contains lead and, while the risk is minimal, it is wise to wash your hands after handling and keep the piece away from very young children.
