Queenies

Queenies are small handmade dollies made using my own unique and original design. Made from recycled woolen blanket, preloved beads on their crowns and filled with hobby fill toy stuffing. Although no two are the same, they all measure approximately 13-15cm high. They are not perfect and neat, nor are they meant to be. They feature a positive message on their bellies, with 11 different sayings to choose from, four of those in Te Reo. When ordering, please specify the saying you would like used on your queenie. The options are as follows:

She stood in the storm and when the wind did not blow her way, she adjusted her sails

She was not afraid of storms for she was learning to sail her ship

She did it anyway because she is brave

Little by little she travelled far

She thought she could and so she did

If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely

And though she be but little she is fierce

Aroha Atu, Aroha Mai - translates to Love received, Love returned

Awhi Mai, Awhi Atu is from a Maori proverb meaning when we show care for others, they will return care to us.

Tukua kia tū takitahi ngā whetū o te rangi is "Let each star in the sky shine it's own light". This was quote that I found when I did my Matariki dolls a few years ago and my take on it is that we all have a light to shine, we are all unique and fabulous in our own way.
