Plant dyed merino DK - Kowhai
Hand dyed using all natural plant dyes in a mustard yellow variegated palette. Aotearoa grown DK Merino.
I small batch dye in my Kaipara studio, using a natural zero waste process. Plants are harvested sustainably to make an immersion dye bath. In a second dyeing step, the variegated colours added using complimentary plants sources. Mordants have been used to ensure longevity of colours. Each skein is unique.
Colours have been photographed as accurately as possible.

This skein is 100g / 400m.
Gauge: Needle Size: 4mm, tension 22sts x 30rows per 10cm/4”
Length: Approximately 204m per 100gms
Hand wash finished garment in warm water using wool wash only.
