Handwoven elegant silk scarf
Lime-a-licious. Handwoven lace scarf in the decadence of silk.
Cheerful shades of greens shimmer through a background of blue and yellow. It is the combination of the colours that give the scarf its golden glow.
The base of the scarf is pure fine cotton in chamois yellow and baby blue. Though lightweight, the structure of the cotton gives the scarf its foundation.
The scarf is woven in pure Bombyx silk hand dyed in a lime green. The silk offers an incredibly luxurious feel and a radiant shimmer to the cloth.
The scarf drapes extremely well, and is very soft. This would lovely draped over your shoulders or secured with a brooch or pin. Can be worn tied in a French knot, traditional tie, or wrapped around your shoulders.
Made popular in China thousands of years ago for its luxurious quality, mulberry silk comes from the Morus Alba tree. Mulberry silk is made from the cocoon of the Bombyx mori moth. Before metamorphosis, the caterpillar feeds exclusively on the white mulberry leaf—this is one of the reasons why this silk is known for its second-to-none quality.
Cotton is made from the natural fibres of cotton plants. It is primarily composed of cellulose, an insoluble organic compound crucial to plant structure, and is a soft and fluffy material.
The scarf has been hand washed and dried, then pressed.
Materials: Cotton and silk. Hand twisted fringe. Hand wash only.
Dimensions: width 13 1/2″ – 34cm // length w/o fringe 75″ – 190cm // fringe 5″ – 13cm.
