Hand Carved Wooden Penguin Sculpture

Hand-carved penguin minamalist figure. Made from 100yr old recycled rimu (NZ native timber) house framing timber. Each wooden bird is lovingly carved from a custom-selected bit of timber to provide its own unique grain pattern and character. The stripes in the timber are from where the old nails have rusted into the grain of the timber over many years. As each one is custom carved they are all slightly different in shape and size. The upmost effort has been put into sustainably sourcing all of the materials used to ensure the most gentle of footprints.

Made from – Locally sourced storm fallen recycled Rimu that was sourced from an old dismantled lakeside batch.

Finished in Tung Oil.
