Winter Solstice, the shortest day and longest night, when darkness has found its peak and we warmly welcome the return of light. Our incense Luminate honours the Winter Goddess of nomadic tradition - the Deer Mother, associated with fertility, motherhood, renewal, and the rebirth of the sun. At Winter Solstice, the Deer Mother draws the sleigh of the Sun Goddess while carrying the light of the sun within her antlers - returning life and light to all the land.

Luminate carries and blends the sun plants of Cinnamon, Rosemary and Bay, to invite the light while warming and illuminating this precious time of reflection and renewal.

With a sassy nod to Matariki, in celebration of this beautiful time of growth and remembrance, we add the peppery Horopito. As the star cluster of the Seven Sisters, Pleiades, appears in southern skies around winter solstice, it’s time to wonder at our place in the cosmos, to celebrate life. In deepest, darkest winter, this distant starlight heralds the return of the light.

To supercharge this momentous blend, we add energy-amplifying clear quartz crystal.
