‘Le Petit Voyageur’ (The Little Traveller): a necklace for the true voyager.
Measuring a mere 1 x ¾ of an inch, I’m a wearable, usable miniature journal for your thoughts. I wear a reclaimed soft black leather coat, which bundles up 36 sheets (72 pages) of tea-stained paper, along with vintage printed endpapers featuring a world map. Hand-torn, my pages have been stitched with archival linen thread.
Along with a tiny antique key measuring 1 inch long, I’m coupled with an 18mm wide magnifying cabochon in a vintage-style brass setting with a scalloped edge, which features an antique envelope sent from Italy to Christchurch in 1904. This has been resized, printed with archival ink & set underneath.
We are all attached to an antique bronze mother-son link chain, which secures with a lobster clasp. Our entire length of 13 ½ inches allows us to be worn and admired all at once.
