Tuatara Linocut
This is a linocut of the rare Tuatara, a reptile that is endemic to Aotearoa/New Zealand and the last survivor of an order of reptiles that lived in the age of dinosaurs.
I carved my design onto a lino block then inked and printed it using my Intaglio Fine Art Printing Press. As each print is inked by hand then rolled through the press each one is slightly different. Here I have used a kākāriki/green water based ink. The size of the linocut is 15cm high by 22cm wide and the size of the paper is 20cm high x 25cm wide making it easy to source a ready made frame.
