The original artwork is a hand-coloured, handmade gel plate monoprint. It is the first gel plate monoprint and the first botanical-themed artwork Keeley has released.
Inkjet ink on Epson Cold Press 310gsm paper (archival fine art quality inks and papers known for their longevity and clarity.)
Hand signed and dated by the artist before shipping.

Size of paper: 239mm (w) x 314mm (h)
Generous white border around the image mimics matteboard and allows for easy framing.

“I found working on this leaf monoprint therapeutic, since it seemed to allow for a sort of cathartic channelling (through the art mediums used) of personal and collective human emotion, state of mind and sense of being − the presence of which I was feeling and sensing at the time.
The artwork’s composition of kawakawa leaves and unfurling korus (fern tendrils) − with all their inherent symbolism − perhaps played a key role in enabling this process to happen. But, if so, then it happened subconsciously.
The metaphor and symbolism I personally attach to this artwork include a sense of healing, hope, self-honesty, grief, the act of processing intense emotion, spirituality, searching, longing, the search for truth and authenticity, vulnerability, listening to and following the heart, dark, light, other-worldliness, ancestral connections and whisperings, callings, the urge and challenge to ‘heed the call’, death, birth, retreat, depression, renewal, recovery, growth and re-growth.”
