Winged Copper Key

Magic is certainly in the air with this flying specimen – a winged key inspired by dragonflies whose flight patterns are indeed incredible as they hover, dive and move sideways effortlessly.
Each piece of glass has been hand cut, smoothed and copper-foiled then soldered together using 60/40 lead tin solder. It has then had a copper patina applied.
The glass used for the wings is clear and has a metal oxide layer on it, giving the appearance of rainbow lights, akin to that of oil on water. It is also textured which adds more realism and depth.
Fine fishing nylon has been used to hang this, adding to the sense that the key really is floating in the air. It could be replaced with anything else, such as ribbon, twine or cotton at request. The fishing nylon also means it is simple to adjust the hanging height.
The key measures 7.cm length and the width of the piece is 7.5cm too. Hanging height including the nylon is 19cm, which can be adjusted to any request.
