Elegant Mokume Drop Earrings

Polymer earrings hand formed in a mokume style using jade, blue and gold clay. Mokume-gane is a Japanese metal working technique resulting in a random layered pattern. This lightweight pair is formed into elegant slim drops measuring 5.5 cm long and 1.7 cm at the widest point. The ear wires are niobium, a hypoallergenic metal developed by NASA and used extensively for surgical implants. It is the safest metal for sensitive ears. Only clay is used in these earrings, no paint or other tints, and the colour is permanent. Every piece has been sanded through multiple grits, finished with Renaissance wax, and finally buffed to a satin finish.
