New Zealand Greenstone or Pounamu Bird, hand carved Kereru pendant

A beautiful One-of-a-kind hand carved New Zealand Greenstone or Pounamu bird on the wing.
To me it represents our beautiful native Wood Pigeon or Kereru. With a Koru design to bring renewal of the spirit or Wairua, growth and positive inspiration for new ideas and adventures.
Carved from translucent Kahurangi stone from Westland, Southern Alps, NZ. A little piece of NZ treasure or Taonga.

Greenstone is only found in small mountainous areas of NZ, where it is revealed to the surface through earthquakes or erosion & then it is worn smooth by the rivers.
Maori believe Greenstone is a peace stone. It brings healing properties of renewal, courage, strength & justice It is known also a heart chakra stone. Making it a nice gift for a loved one.

This piece measures 4.7 cm or 2 inches wide and 1.1 inches high. Hung on a hand plaited black cord with secure adjustable slip knots. adjustable length from approximately 38cm-65cm long.

This piece will arrive in a gift box, and I include a handwritten card describing the symbolism of the design and the properties of the stone.
