‘Maple’ Waldorf Inspired Doll

Maple was inspired by the colours and spirit of Autumn, and lovingly created by hand using a variety of textiles, most of which have been dyed naturally using plants.

Maple’s body is made using pure linen and has been naturally-dyed using madder root. The shape of her body allows her to sit up well.

Her clothing is all removable, from her boots to her knits to her naturally dyed dress.

These Waldorf inspired dolls have been left intentionally simple to encourage and stimulate a child’s imagination, the doll’s simple expression can easily reflect the child’s mood and creativity, allowing for full use of their imagination.

Only natural materials have been used, as these natural materials are gentle on the senses and they nourish a connection to the natural world for the developing child, and a sense of belonging.

Materials include Linen, Cotton, New Zealand sheep’s wool (stuffing), Alpaca Boucle yarn (Hair), merino wool.

Caring for your naturally dyed doll

Please do not put your doll in the washing machine. You can spot clean any small marks, or hand-wash as necessary with a gentle, PH-neutral wool detergent. Lie flat to dry in a well ventilated area in the shade.

Botanically dyed textiles, like all fabrics, will fade over time if left in direct sunlight. Natural dyes are sensitive to citric acids (found in lemons, grapefruit, oranges, tomatoes etc) which will ‘bleach’ the fibres.
