Native Tui linocut

This is a linocut of a Tui, a native bird of Aotearoa. The Tui has stunning plumage, a beautiful call and is attracted to the Fuchsia flower. Here I created a lovely purple by mixing blue, red and silver ink so it has a slight sheen. I ink each print by hand then roll through my Intaglio Fine Art Printing Press onto Italian made Fabriano printmaking paper. The paper is 20cm high x 25cm wide.
