Janice Joplin: (1943-1970) Sadly one of the early members of the '27 Club'. A short but notable career having been on the performer line up at both the 1960s Monterey and Woodstock music festivals. Her second solo album released after her death was a number one hit on the Billboard charts. She was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995. Rolling Stone Magazine ranked her at #28 on it's 100 Greatest Singers of all time list. Her record sales reach close to 20 million.
