Worldwide 350 million of the real life version of Rubik's Cube have been sold since it's birth into the world of frustrating games and mind twisters in 1975. 200 million of those were sold at the height of the Cube's craze between 1980-83.
Remember the show 'That's Incredible'? There were often people on that show who could solve the cube in a matter of seconds.
For many Cube owners, the frustration of solving just one side in the right colour, while the other five sides were a mixture of the remaining colours, found undoing the cubes to 'inspect' the working parts was not that hard to do.
Many homes still have a cube. An original or 2000's revival version, and still it screws with the players tolerance to the point of frustration, and will do for many generations to come.
