The Pied Stilt - Poaka is a dainty wading bird commonly found in coastal estuaries and wetlands throughout NZ.
Often seen alongside Oyster Catchers, Kaki and Godwits, they can become large, noisy flocks with theiryapping call. Naturalised in NZ, they‛re also found int he tropical climates of Australia, Indonesia and Asia.
