Pekapeka / Long Tailed Bat - an open edition fine art giclee print A5

A little bat flies towards us, he is a Long Tailed Bat which is endemic to New Zealand. Both of our native bat species are the only native mammals we have here in Aotearoa. He has been carefully rendered using layers of watercolour to capture the texture of his fur and Indian Ink to capture a depth to the blackness; and movement and vitality in the grey mid tones.

This illustration is part of my Preludes and Nocturnes series which focuses on our unique native species.

It has been professionally printed using archival inks on Hahnemuhle William Turner 310gms cotton rag paper. This particular paper is just gorgeous, it has the appearance of water-colour paper and has been specifically created for longevity when used with pigmented inks.

It is an open edition print and comes signed and dated.
