Vintage Kimono silk top
This lovely top is made from a vintage Shibori silk kimono. Shibori is a traditional Japanese tie-dye technique which makes tiny bumps on a fabric surface as you can see on the 4th photo. Artisans in the past tied every single bumps by hands. Not to mention it's extremely time consuming work and it needs high level of skills. We can't even imagine how long it took to finish up a whole fabric for one kimono.
I feel so blessed that I can use such a precious fabric for my garments and I can't thank enough to artisans who created the original fabric.
The slightly rounded V- neck shows your decorte beautiful. Its sleeves are semi puff style with elastics and they add a good amount of cuteness to this simple design top. I hope you enjoy feeling an amazing Shibori texture on your own skin.

Hena Hena's creations are upcycled with vintage silk kimonos which are impoirted from Japan and they are carefully unpicked by myself. I mainly use kimonos from 1950s and before. Because of their age of fabrics there could be some flaws like small marks, pinholes and colour fade etc. but they have incredibly graceful taste that only vintage kimonos have. I hope you enjoy and love the beauty of vintage kimono silks including their histories to be embraced.
