This item is a handcrafted miniature replica mining cottage mounted on a stone base. This is a replica of the cottages you would have found during the gold rush in early Central Otago.
Each model replica is crafted by hand with a hammer and chisel. The tin roof is snipped piece by piece from original rusty tin. The cottage and all of the accompanying parts are then mounted on a piece of Central Otago stone. These are made the same way that our ancestors built these cottages during their search for gold.
The purchased cottage may not be the one pictured, but will be very, very similar.
