Wooden Earrings - Leaf pattern
NZ $30.00
Handmade wooden earrings out of stabilised and multi-dyed box elder burl.
Each earring is about 4 cm long and 2 cm wide. They are very light-weight.
Each set comes with a velvet pouch.
Wood stabilisation is the process of replacing any air in the capillaries of the wood with a hardening agent. The hardening agent can contain colours, which is what gives the piece such interesting results. The wood is soaked the agent under pressure and then baked to cure. Once cured, the wood is stronger and more durable than before. If any colours were added during the process it is all throughout the wood, inside and out.
