This retro-style stained-glass caravan brings back childhood memories of school holidays and camping and is a classic New Zealand/kiwiana symbol. A great gift or a treasure just for yourself.
Created using the Tiffany method of construction. Each piece of glass has been hand cut, smoothed and copper-foiled then soldered together using 60/40 lead tin solder. The hanging wire is Tiger Tail.
Measures 16.5cm x 11cm and 21.5cm full length, including the hanging Tiger Tail wire. The tow bar is created using stainless steel.
Windows use iridised glass which is created using metal oxides. These oxides leave a rainbow layer on the glass, similar to how oil looks on water, which brings an interesting sheen and depth to the windows. The body of the caravan uses opaque glass which is not see-through but it does diffuse light that goes through it, appearing to gently glow. This makes it more visible than the clearer glasses when there is low light or no backing light.
Available in a variety of colours and combinations. This one is available right now to purchase, however buyers can request preferences for customising the colours, adding detail to personalise. This will just mean it takes a little longer to get delivered. Any questions just ask!
