Hand-made bowl, thrown on the potters wheel. Individually made from stoneware clay, and high-fired over 13 hours in a wood kiln during a workshop exploring surfaces, making these particular pieces a limited run.

Handmade stamps (inspired by the Taranaki environment, made and bisque-fired) were impressed into the surface of these bowls while each piece was still on the wheel, to explore impression and loose movement in the form in it's wet state, and an oxide wash was applied and wiped back prior to the final firing to accentuate these.

The typical wood-fired "flashes" of colour are evident in these pieces, as well as the varied deposits of soda (glassy, orange-peel effect) introduced towards the end of the firing, and which the kiln distributed throughout the work.

Perfect for use as any type of vessel - small servings of pasta or salads in summer, as a bowl for hearty-soup or casserole in winter, or as a planter or centre-piece display.

Sizing approx: (H) 9cm x (W) 12cm.
Holds approx.: 600mls liquid
