Sojourn: Geo Tile Handwoven New Zealand wool baby blanket for cot
The Sojourn collection has been designed in homage to practitioners of motif and pattern in other artisan and cultural traditions, with motifs translated into a textured double cloth weave structure. Essentially this technique creates 2 blankets woven together at moments of pattern, adding warmth and loft - an heirloom gift for baby.
The Geo Tile motif celebrates the universal language and elegance of pattern based on grids of circles and ruled lines, and mastered by practitioners of Islamic geometric design.
Designed and woven in my Wellington studio, with undyed natural cream corriedale wool yarn grown and processed in New Zealand.
All hems are hand stitched and a care label is attached. Each blanket comes with an unbleached organic cotton drawstring storage bag.
