Kaikōura Rock Daisy (Pachystegia insignis) is a rare native flower that was almost wiped out by the 7.8-magnitude earthquake in November 2017. It only grows on rock faces at Ohau Point, north of Kaikōura. At risk of extinction, a huge effort was made by Titoki Nursery and DOC to germinate remaining seeds and replant the area.
