Mini quilt, climate change quilt
"It's gettin' hot in here" - as featured in Curated Quilts magazine Issue 08!!!
This mini quilt shows climate change and it's clear from the colour change over time (1896 on the left to 2016 on the right) that it's getting hot!
Each colour represents a 0.1 degree celsius temperature change and each stripe is the average temperature anomaly over four years compared to the longer-term mean (1900-2001). The left-hand side starts at 1892 and goes until 2016 on the right (all data are available from NOAA). The quilted line running through the middle shows the trend.
It is backed with a mint green cotton and the facing is machine sewn to the front and carefully hand stitched to the back. A sleeve can be added to back for hanging using a dowel rod or similar (rod not included sorry).
It measures 14.4" square (36.5cm).
This is a beautiful and striking mini quilt that will make a great conversation piece in any interior decor. It is a one-of-a-kind, modern piece of quilted art.
