This heirloom pea produces beautiful mauve flowers and vibrant purple pods! It's mainly used as a shellout, but if picked very young it makes a colourful mange-tout pea for salads - or direct scoffing!
Great for for small gardens, it needs good support and spacing (3 seeds every 25 cm, in rows) to minimize powdery mildew. To prolong the harvest keep picking those pods!
Plant in very early spring or autumn. Peas are a “shoulder season” crop that don’t like the summer’s heat.
