New Zealand Pounamu pendant with sterling silver binding~ Kawakawa Greenstone

Gorgeous New Zealand Greenstone or Pounamu pendant. Hand carved from beautiful bright green Kawakawa with nice translucency against the light. A type of greenstone named after the native Kawakawa tree. I have added a sterling silver binding for an elegant touch of bling, it is securely attached through the stone. This is a solid piece at 1cm thick.
The Maori believe Pounamu is a 'peace stone' it is a New Zealand treasure or Taonga. And is only found in Westland South Island of New Zealand.

This piece measures 6.3cm or 2.5 inches long and 1cm thick. I have hung it on a black adjustable cord with secure slip knots 38-65cm long
