New Zealand Greenstone Pounamu pendant with hand engraved koru design
Hand carved New Zealand Greenstone or Pounamu in a Roimata or teardrop shape.. Engraved by hand with a double Koru design to symbolise friendship and bonding, showing two spirits joined together.
This piece is a bright mossy green and a lovely translucency when held to the light. A lovely example of Kawakawa greenstone from the West coast of the South Island, NZ.
Maori believe Pounamu is a 'peace stone' it is a New Zealand treasure or Taonga.
Greenstone is also known as Nephrite Jade

This piece measures 5.8cm or 2.25 inches long. I have hung it on a black adjustable cord 38-65cm long
