Cable needle // Handmade copper // A treat for knitters // Made to order

This cable needle is handmade from copper wire.

I love knitting, and I'm very process driven, I love the feel of the yarn, the needles, the rhythm of knitting every bit as much as I love the finished product. I couldn't use the dinky plastic cable needles any longer, so I decided to make my own.

I love them! They're smooth and warm quickly, the stitches stay in the indent really well, but slide super well once you position them for knitting. I smooth the tips super thoroughly so there's no snagging or sharpness.

Details:
- Approx 10cm long from tip to tip
- Made from 14 gauge wire, happily accommodates many sizes of yarn - have not tried with super bulky

Being pure copper they develop a rich patina over time. I've used them extensively and have never had the patina transfer to any of my projects, and have found it very easy to polish the patina away to make the needle lovely and shiny again.
