This product has been made with a fair dinkum NZ Beer. I cant divulge the brand, but I can tell you that it has been triple milled. Due to slight variations in ingredients, full strength, light, etc, this soap can range from a wonderfully golden toffee to a paler cream bar...either way they are still pretty darn good looking.
I also currently make a selection of Lard Based Soaps. These Bars were originally made to supply our local Heritage Day Fundraiser and to show people original soap recipes from our Pioneering Grandparents time. Lard is a funny thing, some people like it and others are dead against using the product. In my mind I feel that my use of Lard goes a long way in helping to utilize every part of the animal, with care and with purpose and for a gorgeous product. Lard has its own unique properties within soap making such as creating a long lasting bar, great lather and amazing moisturizing for the skin.
I hand make all my soaps in small individual batches and pour into a purpose built larger than usual mold. I was wanting to create larger pieces of soap that give you a good amount of product for your bucks. All my rectangular soaps are 10cms in length x 7cms high and in general 1.5/2cms wide. As each piece is individually cut there can be small discrepancies in the width.
My soaps aim to capture the wholesome, resilient, rustic, quirky and colorful life on the West Coast. Its an area alive with amazing grandeur and spectacular scenery, even in the small details.
