Hand Crocheted Sleeping Octopus

Sleeping Octopus is made especially for preemie babies.

The tentacles of the octopus mimic the umbilical cord in the womb that the fetus grabs onto for support.

Danish research has noted that this simple gesture improves breathing and heartbeat rates, promotes higher levels of oxygen in their blood, makes them less likely to pull on their tubes and cords around them and makes them feel safe.

Sleeping Octopus is made from gentle, non-allergenic 100% pure cotton so should comply with sterilisation requirements.

I've crocheted the octopus as tightly as I can so that minimum polyester fibre fill can escape.

Sleeping Octopus is lovingly hand crocheted from my non-smoking, pet-free home in New Zealand.

Sleeping Octopus is small enough to fit comfortably inside an incubator. Octopus is 19 cm (7.5 inches) tall from tip of head to tip of tentacle and head is 5.5 cm (2.5 inches) at widest point.

Sleeping Octopus would love to be owned by a baby boy or girl who would like a comfort companion in her cradle.

Sleeping Octopus also makes a lovely gift for baby showers and birthdays.

I can insert a small rattle in the head for an additional $2. Please let me know prior to bidding if you would like this.

Sleeping Octopus comes in blue, red, purple, green and yellow and rainbow. However, if you'd prefer other colours, just let me know as Octopus can be made in any colour/colour combination you like.
