The white heron (or kōtuku) has always been rare in New Zealand and it has attained almost mythical status, revered by both Māori and pakeha for its elegant white feathers. This graceful bird has long, slender legs and a long, thin S-shaped neck, which has a distinct kink when flying. When breeding, long, loose breeding plumes grow from its back and wings, the normally yellow bill turns dull black, and the facial skin between the eye and bill brightens to a bluish-green.

Original collage with a retro twist hand made from various decorative papers applied with water-based non-toxic glue onto plywood. This is a limited edition of 50, although they are all unique in paper selection and wood grain. Artist's initials (that's me!) and edition number written on back of collage.

Enjoy as a one-off piece or combine with other collages to create a set of 2-3 or more to make a fun and colourful collection on any wall - lounge, child's room, kitchen…

The plywood (9mm 5-ply) is made from sustainable A-grade pine grown here in New Zealand which is carefully selected, cut to size and lovingly sanded to a beautiful smooth finish. The completed collages are hand coated with a protective water-based non-toxic satin finish.

Size = 230 x 230mm (23cm). They come ready to hang and are wrapped with tissue paper, tied with a bright bow, accompanied by a Native Creative stamped and signed card and carefully packaged with bubble-wrap for protection.

**Please allow up to 1 week for me to create this special collage just for you**

Note: You'll see in the image showing the back of the collage that the handwriting says "Kereru" but that's just an example I'm using to show what the back looks like. They will of course all be named according to the image.
