Midnight on Kauri

One of my early memories of arriving on these beautiful shores, was camping and the late night sounds of the wee Ruru. I love owls, but I especially find this one sweet and somewhat comical. I am hoping my portrait does it justice.

This illustration was one of the 12 images done for a calendar that I did last year involving all sorts of 'locals' from the New Zealand coast and bush.
