Long Tailed Bat / Pekapeka - a fine art giclee print

A sweet little bat flies towards us, he is a Long Tailed Bat which is endemic to New Zealand. Both of our native bat species are the only native mammals we have here in Aotearoa. He has been carefully rendered using layers of watercolour to capture the texture of his fur and Indian Ink to capture a depth to the blackness; and movement and vitality in the grey mid tones.

It has been professionally printed using archival inks on Hahnemuhle William Turner 310gms cotton rag paper. This particular paper is just gorgeous, it has the appearance of water-colour paper and has been specifically created for longevity when used with pigmented inks.
